Geoff Lewis and Jon Quelch have, between them, more than 50 years experience in cryogenics, particularly liquid nitrogen, but also liquid carbon dioxide, liquid argon, liquid oxygen and LNG, and gained a high reputation for in-depth knowledge of the subject

Geoff holds a PhD in Physics, from the University of London, King’s College and worked in scientific research at the University of Hawaii, the University of London and the National Research Council of Canada before entering the field of industrial cryogenics. He gained several years valuable experience working for Thor Cryogenics and Cryoservice before becoming one of the founding partners of Thames Cryogenics in 1985. 

After 13 years as Technical and Sales Director, Geoff became Managing Director of Thames, but retained involvement in technical aspects of the business


Jon worked for several years at the University of Oxford, Clarendon Labaratories, before joining Thor Cryogenics in 1977. There he gained experience as a test engineer, installation engineer, project engineer and works manager. 

He was also a founding partner of Thames Cryogenics and was Projects Director from 1985 until 1998, when he took on the additional roles of Financial Director and Company Secretary


Among their fields of experience and expertise are Piping, storage and control of liquid nitrogen, Design, Development, Troubleshooting, Cryogenic controls, Level measurement and control, Installation; Flow, consumption, heat transfer and cooling power calculations, Superinsulation, Droplet dispensing; High vacuum.
